Hillman Saddle Shop first came to be in 1999. We started our small buisiness with a few handmade headstalls, chaps, saddles and other leather items. Clint learned the Saddle making trade from a family friend Stacy Jensen. Clint enjoys working in the evenings after a long day on our Ranch, Hillman Quarter Horses. Clint and his family have been ranching for generations.
After the birth of our second baby boy, I wanted to stay home. I had learned sewing from my mother and grandmother, who are both exceptional seamstresses. Clint asked me one winter evening if I could cut off his long duster. It was a miserably cold winter, wind blowing, sleeting snow. I was horrified at the thought of cutting off his expensive coat. I asked him to give me a few days to see if I could make him a short duster as I had just found some oil cloth fabric in town. I rustled up a pattern and put together my first oil cloth duster. I then made a few more for family and friends. Before I knew it, I had taken over the Hillman Saddle Shop name. Clint still enjoys building saddles, but has less and less time these days.
Presently, Hillman Saddle Shop offers many unique and giftable items, most of which are handmade. I (Tiffany) make all of the coats & vests, I also enjoy doing the embroidery on many of our Items. My sister Loni, and two of my sister-in-laws (Kristy & Shanna) help me sew. My mom (Wendy) creates the adorable handmade stick horses, infant blanket sets, and unique kitchen towels. Gordon, (my dad) with the help of my oldest son Tate help out by building the amazing Lil' Daddy playsets.
We also offer various other handmade items including the "New" line of Ruckus Jewelry made by my sister Taleesha, polar fleece sweaters for kids by my best friend Alesha, and when available my friends Patty, Ashley, and Stacey help out with knitted hats, flower hair clips, magnets, jewelry, and other cute items.
Just for fun I have added a line of Bling purses, belts and flip flops. I love to do "Purse Parties" just ask, and we will come to you and your friends. (sorry...Locals only)
I love working with my family and friends, all of them, (too many to mention) have supported me in may ways over the years. My three boys are also very supportive and help in any way that they can.
I also love to travel and set up my booth at lots of different venues; horse sales, rodeos, fairs, expos, and more. If you would like to see us in your area, feel free to shoot me an email and let me know about the events in your neck of the woods.
Thank you, thank you to all of my customers! I really enjoy working with you, and appreciate your word of mouth advertising.
